When working with other musicians, artists, singers, songwriters, our first step is getting to know each others, delineate the exact goals to be achieved and a timeline. Most of guitar, keyboards and E-drums tracking is done directly at our studio in Rincon Valley. Preproduction, editing, sound replacement and other tasks are mostly done here at our studio as well. For most professional quality vocals, acoustic drums and other non-electric instruments we typically track at Uncontained Studios here in Santa Rosa, CA. This studio is owned and operated by our long time friend and cooperator, also multi-awarded music and video producer Sir Julio Martinez. Uncontained has large array of high-end microphones (Neumann, Rode, Shure...), several tracking rooms and, like our studio, state of the art digital interfaces and Mac processors. Both studios offer an extensive array of analog sound processors and digital plug ins, so to achieve the expected results.

Our current rates for use of the studio are $65/Hour for Merlino Music Studio and $95/Hour for Uncontained. We mostly price sessions by the project, after the details are discussed. Most importantly, we work with the artist/songwriter in a way to maximize the yield and minimize their cost. Our primary goal is to produce high quality music for and with the artist.

Yes, of course! While certain production phases will require the presence of the artist/performer in the studio, like for tracking vocals and instruments, many other phases like editing, mixing, mastering do not strictly require them on site. When review and approval is required by the artist, we can share files via Google Drive, or other clouds based file sharing platforms.

Yes we do! Besides being sound engineers, we also are well known musicians (Andrea on guitar, Julio on keys) we also network with a large number of local, professional level musicians, and can source any instrument you might need for your recordings. Besides top of the line mics, we also have ready available tube amps such as Vox, Carvin, Fender, Orange, Trace Eliot, a large selection of guitar pedals, including Sans Amp, Source Audio, MXr, Digitech, and many more. We also provide electric and acoustic guitars, from vintage Strats and Teles, to 12 strings electric, Schecter 5 strings and Fender bass, Ludwig acoustic drums, and more...

I am a pretty good chef, and can cook amazing Italian traditional dishes, paired with great wines. I also love any sports involving hitting a ball with a stick, such as baseball, but most of all I  am an avid tennis player. Once in a while, I like to vacation where I can snorkel!
